Moradillo de Sedano, Burgos
Church of San Esteban
The construction of the church of San Esteban is dated by inscription to 1188. Though today enclosed by a porch from around 1800, the south portal of the church is one of the most sculpturally ornate of Castilian Romanesque art. A dominating Christ in Majesty, surrounded by the four evangelists, takes up the tympanum space, which is then surrounded by three archivolts each filled with figural sculpture.
